My Running

                                   Dear Readers,
Yesterday I was at my travel soccer practice and we were doing suicides(also called ladders): where you sprint to one ball, sprint back and touch the ground, sprint to the second ball and sprint back, e.t.c. Well of course, the first time I messed up cause my shoe lace was untied, lesson learned. The second time we did it I was in fifth place. I KNOW I am way faster than my body demonstrated with the suicides. So, in a full field scrimmage( our field is pretty big, specially since we are a U-13 team. ) the forward came sprinting down the middle field. She had got past my middle and left defender, and at the time I was on someone else. It was my time to shine, I was angry, I sprinted and when I was sprinting I felt like a cheetah, gaining speed with every stride, locking my eyes on the target. I didn't hear or see anything around me but the girl and the ball. I got back there and  got the ball, and felt satisfied. Here's the thing, when I am in a race, I am half the speed as on the field, on the field I am twice as fast. I don't know why, I just am. You can't make a cheetah run a race, but you can watch her run in the wild. I love cheetahs, they inspire me.Sadly they are being wiped out by, you know the answer, humans. Not just poaching, also building thousands of homes and villages taking THEIR HABITAT!
